Mark A. Young MD, MBA, FACP has been awarded the coveted "Haim Ring PM&R International Memorial Award." The honor was bestowed upon Dr. Young by the International Society of PM&R at the recent ISPRM Congress in San Juan in recognition of Dr. Young's contributions to advancing the cause of international educational and humanitarian exchange in Physiatry. The award is named after the late Professor Haim Ring, an international Neurorehabilitation luminary and physiatrist. In accepting the award, Dr Young acknowledged the monumental contributions of academic institutions (like Hopkins) in welcoming international exchange students and physicians.
Dr. Young is currently an Assistant Professor, part-time, in the Department of PM&R and served on the fulltime faculty from 1991 to 1997. A graduate of the Chicago Medical School, Dr. Young completed his residency in PM&R at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine/ Montefiore Medical Center. He also has an M.B.A. at Johns Hopkins. Dr. Young is currently chair of the Department of PM&R at The Maryland Rehabilitation Center/ Workforce & Technology Center.
