Cindy X. Cai, M.D., is the Jonathan and Marcia Javitt Rising Professor of Ophthalmology and a retina specialist seeing patients at the Wilmer Eye Institute’s locations in the Baltimore, Maryland area. Research Summary

Dr. Cai’s research focuses on utilizing medical informatics to leverage social, clinical, and retinal imaging data to develop approaches for personalized medicine that take into account both medical and social aspects of patient care.

A former awardee of the prestigious Heed Ophthalmic Foundation Fellowship, Dr. Cai has been recognized for her innovative research with numerous awards and research grants and is pursuing a master’s degree in Applied Health Sciences Informatics at Johns Hopkins.
