COVID-19 Update

Due to interest in the COVID-19 vaccines, we are experiencing an extremely high call volume. Please understand that our phone lines must be clear for urgent medical care needs. We are unable to accept phone calls to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations at this time. When this changes, we will update this website. Our vaccine supply remains limited. Read all COVID-19 Vaccine Information.

Our Committees

The Office of Women in Science and Medicine was created in March of 2008, and with the help of many of you, the office has been able to launch many new and innovative programs through the years. We continue to have informal and formal programming, The Annual Event, Presentation of the Vice Deans Award and special programs for Women faculty are planned as appropriate. I would very much like to thank the entire female faculty who has agreed to serve on various OWISM committees, and also thank those of you who have participated in our many programs.

The Office of Women in Science and Medicine works closely with a group of committees to accomplish its mission, goals and to guide programming. Women faculty will be asked to serve on appropriate committees because of their leadership roles at Hopkins, their skill set and their interest in particular OWISM activities.

Advisory Committee

We have formalized a new structure for the OWISM Advisory Committee.  This group was announced in the spring of 2019.  The new Advisory Committee is composed of women faculty who represent the diverse nature of the faculty and the distinctly different departments at the School of Medicine. They will provide guidance to the OWISM on specific concerns of the women faculty, and the development of all OWISM events and programs.
