The Patient Resource Center at The Johns Hopkins Hospital provides a variety of leisure reading materials as a courtesy for guests and patients to enjoy during their stay. Our collection includes a variety of genres, including but not limited to, nonfiction, fiction, short stories, romance and classics. There are also lifestyle and entertainment magazines available, as well as art supplies. Books, magazines and art supplies can be checked-out by patients and guests from 8am -4pm Monday through Friday.

The JHH Recreational Library also provides our patients and guests access to computers, a fax machine and printing.

How many books/magazines can be checked out at a time?

Patients and family members can request up to five books/magazines per day.

How do I return materials to the Patient Resource Center?

You may return the materials by using our book drop located directly outside of our office, Carnegie 173. If you are room-bound, you may call our office to arrange for pick-up of your materials during our regular business hours. Please note you may also keep the materials if you chose to do so.

What if I would like to help the Patient Resource Center?

New reading materials can be donated by leaving them in the drop box located outside of our office, Carnegie 173. We also accept art supply donations during business hours, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
