Suburban Hospital's Critical Care Team
BETHESDA, MD, January 14, 2011 – Suburban Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit has received the Beacon Award for Critical Care Excellence from the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN). The award recognizes the top critical care units in hospitals nationwide.
Suburban Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit is a 24-bed unit caring for critical medical, surgical and trauma patients, and is one of the designated units for stroke care. According to the AACN, as a Beacon Award recipient, Suburban Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit earned distinction in the following areas, as measured against evidence-based national criteria:
Recruitment and retention
Education, training and mentoring
Research and evidence-based practice
Leadership and organization ethics
