Five Suburban Hospital physicians and one patient care team were named winners of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Clinical Awards for Physicians and Care Teams.

She joins other high-profile women in the Washingtonian Magazine list such as D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser, Ivanka Trump, chair of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System Janet Yellen, U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-Maine) and a host of other prominent women.

In a first-of-its-kind study published in the March 1, 2017 edition of Molecular Therapy, researchers from the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD) and Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine showed that gene therapy was able to restore balance and hearing in genetically modified mice that mimic Usher Syndrome, a genetic condition in humans characterized by partial or total hearing loss, dizziness, and vision loss that worsens over time. The hearing loss and dizziness is caused by abnormalities of the inner ear.

Jacky Schultz, president of Suburban Hospital, has been named the 2017 Shining Star recipient by Montgomery Women, a nonpartisan organization in Montgomery County, MD, that encourages and inspires women to break through glass ceilings and to ensure women are fully represented in leadership positions in Montgomery County.
