Ty Crowe

Dr. Teague is a recorded Society of Friends (Quaker) minister (1978), a certified ACPE, Inc. CPE Supervisor (1989) and a Board Certified Chaplain in the Association of Professional Chaplains (1990).  Dr. Teague attended Guilford College (A.B. Degree, 1978), The Earlham School of Religion (Master of Divinity Degree, 1981), and Columbia Seminary in Atlanta, Georgia (Doctor of Ministry Degree, 1992).  In 2008, she received her MBA from the Carey School of Business at Johns Hopkins. 

Dr. Teague completed units of CPE at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana, residencies at the Baptist Hospitals in Jacksonville, Florida and Birmingham, Alabama.  Dr. Teague has assisted four CPE programs to become fully accredited - The Children’s Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama, Catholic Clinical Pastoral Education Program affiliated with Franciscan Health System, Catholic Health Initiatives and Catholic Health East (CHI), Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center.  As part of CHI, Dr. Teague began CPE at St. Joseph Medical Center in Towson, Maryland.

Dr. Teague presents workshops on mediation, tools for management in ministry, leadership development, deep listening in pastoral care, strategic planning, and “the spiritual care providers’ MBA.”  Dr. Teague has a strong clinical interest in interprofessional education, integration of spirituality and medicine, palliative care, patient-family centered care, bio-medical ethics and advance care planning.

He is an ordained teacher in the Shadhiliyya Sufi Order, and is a certified ACPE Educator. Prior to coming to The Johns Hopkins Hospital, Ty served as Coordinator of Clinical Pastoral Education at Sutter Medical Center, in Sacramento, California, for four years and was a part-time chaplain for the Sutter Center for Psychiatry. He has supervised CPE students at Baptist Health in Jacksonville, Florida; at Vitas Hospice in Ormond Beach, Florida; and at Tallahassee Memorial in Tallahassee. Ty has a particular interest in chaplaincy research and quality improvement, and is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains.

Tamekia Milton

An ordained Baptist minister and and certified ACPE educator, she is the JHH Clinical Pastoral Education Supervisor. Tamekia formerly supervised chaplaincy students at Hampton VA Medical Center in Virginia and Brookwood Baptist Health System (Alabama), where she also was the cancer center chaplain.  Previously she served as an associate pastor and youth pastor, and remains active in local church ministry.  She holds a bachelor of arts degree in music performance and education from Clark Atlanta University (Georgia), and a master of divinity from Emory University Candler School of Theology in Atlanta.

The Chaplain of the Sidney Kimmel Comprehensive Cancer Center and an ordained clergy member of The Holston Conference of the United Methodist Church.  She graduated with a bachelor of arts degree from Wheaton College in Wheaton, Illinois, and holds a master of divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary in Pasadena, California. She served as a pastor for 15 years before becoming a hospital chaplain, and is a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains.

The Family Advocate Coordinator and Surgery Chaplain, is an ordained Lutheran minister of the Andhra Evangelical Lutheran Church of India, and is a Board Certified Chaplain through APC. John holds a masters of arts degree in history, and a bachelor of divinity degree from the Ecumenical Seminary of The United Theological College in Bangalore, India. He also holds a diploma in the Ecumenical Movement from the Bossey Ecumenical Institute of the World Council of Churches in Geneva, Switzerland, and advocates for the Dalit people (“untouchables”) of India. John serves as the Area Certification Chair for Association of Professional Chaplains, which includes Maryland, Delaware, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, as well as serving as a commission member of the Board of Certification of Chaplaincy Inc.

Pediatric Chaplain, previously served for five years as the Family and Staff Bereavement Support member of the Harriet Lane Compassionate Care program at the Johns Hopkins Children's Center. He also served as a member of the Johns Hopkins Children's Center palliative care team. Matt, an ordained Baptist minister, received his bachelor’s degree in English and philosophy from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, and the master of divinity degree from Duke Divinity School in Durham, North Carolina. At Johns Hopkins, he is the first full-time Board Certified Chaplain with a primary focus on pediatrics.

Serves as the Neonatal ICU Chaplain in the Johns Hopkins Children's Center, providing care to the very youngest hospital patients and their families. She is a valued member of the pediatric team with expertise in perinatal palliative care and ministry. An ordained interfaith minister, Kat received a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and women's studies from University of Maryland at College Park, and was awarded the master of divinity degree from Starr King School for the Ministry (Berkeley, California). He received his bachelor of science degree from St. Joseph University, and was ordained by the Ner Israel Rabbinical College. He earned a doctor of pastoral counseling at Hebrew Theological College/Jewish University of America, and is a Certified Jewish Chaplain through the National Association of Jewish Chaplains. He has held rabbinical positions in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Rochester, New York; and Miami Beach, Florida, before serving in chaplaincies in Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. Rabbi Schur served as the Jewish Community Services Chaplain in Baltimore from 1998 until 2010.

Serves as the Episcopal Chaplain for the hospital. He graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in Biblical Languages from Lubbock Christian University in Texas, and the master of divinity degree from Yale Divinity School in New Haven, Connecticut. He also received a diploma in Anglican Studies from Berkeley Divinity School at Yale. Before assuming his pastoral duties at Johns Hopkins Hospital he served as a parish priest and a hospice chaplain. He is a Certified Educator Candidate, in training to educate chaplaincy students in the ACPE program.

Serves as the Administrative Coordinator for the department. In addition to her administrative skills, she is an ordained elder with the City of Hope International Worship Center in Columbia, Maryland. Before coming to Johns Hopkins, she served as the Purchasing Coordinator for Owens and Minor, in Hanover, Maryland. She is a student at Chesapeake Bible College and instructor at Freedom Temple Bible Institute in Brooklyn, Maryland. A 2018 recipient of a Johns Hopkins community service award, Linda is also Director of Volunteers for the East Baltimore precinct of the Baltimore Police Department, and an advocate for domestic violence and human trafficking with Samaritan Women.
