Shenandoah Robinson Receives Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome Discovery Fund Grant
Shenandoah Robinson, M.D., a professor of neurosurgery, has received a Post-Acute COVID-19 Syndrome Discovery Fund Grant from the JHU COVID-19 Research Response Program, Therapeutics Team, funded by the Bentivoglio Family Fund. In her project, titled Neuro-immunomodulation to Prevent Post-Acute COVID Neurological Sequelae, Robinson will work to prevent debilitating COVID-19 conditions using neuro-immunomodulatory therapies. She will use a rodent model to optimize the dosing regimen of Roxadustat and melatonin to inform human clinical trial design. The focus will be to develop serum biomarkers to identify who will benefit from early treatment to prevent chronic deficits and predict efficacy.
