      The Johns Hopkins Global Health Initiative
      Worldwide cancer, malaria, diabetes, HIV/AIDS, cardiovascular disease - these enormous challenges are rooted in broad societal problems ranging from poverty to behaviors to infrastructure. Uniting experts in health, public policy, engineering, business, and education, the Johns Hopkins Global Health Initiative attacks complex societal problems, creating and implementing new solutions, and training tomorrow's global leaders.

      Rising to the Challenge: The Campaign for Johns Hopkins is an effort to raise $4.5 billion, primarily to support students, faculty, and research and interdisciplinary solutions to some of humanity's most important problems. The campaign, supporting both Johns Hopkins University and Johns Hopkins Medicine, was publicly launched in May 2013 and is targeted for completion in 2017.

    • JHU Out of the Darkness Campus Walk Time: 10:00am - 1:00pm Location: School of Nursing Details:

      Where can you get bagels, coffee, yoga, and a walk in the park with dogs on Saturday, April 5? At the JHU Out of the Darkness Campus Walk, that’s where. The 2nd annual walk hopes to increase awareness about depression and suicide prevention, the second leading cause of death for college students, and the third for youth ages 15-24.


      The 3+ mile walk to Patterson Park and back will start at the School of Nursing on 10 a.m. To register or make a donation online, go to before April 4. You do not need to fundraise. Walkers who registered online before April 4 and those registering the day of the walk, should arrive between 9:00-9:30 a.m.
