Outpatient Physical Therapy

Sibley Memorial Hospital Outpatient Rehabilitation is a fully equipped facility with state-of-the-art gym equipment, private treatment rooms and a warm water therapeutic pool. Therapists are skilled at treating a large variety of orthopaedic, neurological, gait/balance, vestibular and pain disorders. With a prescription from your doctor, a full evaluation will be completed by a physical therapist who will set up a treatment plan based on your goals and limitations. Each therapy session will be aimed at helping you reach your goals and return you to optimal function.

About the Team

Jerome Castillo PT, DPT, CEEAA
Castillo currently has six years of experience as a Physical Therapist in the acute and sub-acute, home and outpatient rehabilitation settings. He started out at in acute trauma care in Brooklyn, NY prior to coming to Sibley in 2019. Currently, he has specializations in LSVT BIG for Parkinson's and is a Certified Exercise Expert for the Aging Adult (CEEAA). 

Karis Cavender, PT, DPT, GCS
ABPTS Geriatric Board Certified Specialist
 Cavender received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Slippery Rock University in 1999 after receiving her BS in Kinesiology from The College of William and Mary.  During her career, she has worked in all settings of adult rehabilitation.  She joined the Sibley team in 2005.  Since that time, she has worked in a variety of roles, including providing PT services for Grand Oaks assisted living facility for 7 years.  She has been a member of the outpatient rehab team since 2013.  She has been a board certified Geriatric Specialist since 2003 and has been certified in LSVT BIG since 2012. 

Matthew Clementson PT, DPT
ABPTS Orthopedic Board Certified Specialist
Clementson joined Sibley's outpatient team in 2015 receiving his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Drexel University and Bachelor's Degree in Kinesiology from the University of Maryland.  He became an ABPTS Orthopedic Board Certified Specialist in 2019, and is certified in intramuscular dry needle therapy.  Additionally, Clementson is trained as a vestibular physical therapist and is a Parkinson's disease specific LSVT BIG certified therapist and PWR! Moves certified therapist.  He also has experience in acute care, subacute care, and home health physical therapy.  

Jennifer Ibe Aiken, PT, DPT
Ibe Aiken joined Sibley in 2019. She is licensed to practice physical therapy in the District of Columbia, and she also provides specialized wound care services for both acute and chronic wounds. Ibe Aiken is a member of the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) and currently serves as the Federal Affairs Liaison for the DC chapter of the APTA.  She received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis, where she also earned her bachelor’s degree in Anthropology.

Lora S. John PT, DPT, CLT 
Doctorate in Physical Therapist & Certified Lymphedema Therapist 
Candidate for Board Certification for Oncology Specialization

John has a diverse clinical background in treating patients with oncological impairment across the continuum in care. She has a special interest in working with patients with lymphedema and axillary cording syndrome. She received her certification in lymphedema therapy from Norton School of Lymphatics. John has assisted in the development of Sibley Memorial Hospital’s Pre-rehabilitation Program for Oncological Breast Surgery. Additionally, Lora has completed various course associated with oncology rehabilitation through the APTA Section of Oncology.  She also has experience in pelvic health rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease (LSVT BIG program), vestibular rehabilitation (American Institute of Balance), and intensive care unit rehabilitation.

Jerrod Leonard, PTA
Leonard joined Sibley in 2005 as a Rehabilitation Assistant after receiving his B.A. in Health Education from Morgan State University. In 2010, he received his A.A.S. Physical Therapist Assistant degree from Montgomery College. He is currently certified in LSVT BIG and also a member of the outpatient wound care team. 

Chris Marrow, PT
Marrow received his Masters in Physical Therapy from The George Washington University in 2002 and has worked in the Outpatient Orthopedic environment ever since.  He joined the Sibley team in 2007.  Marrow is certified in LSVT BIG and specializes in Cancer Rehabilitation.  He does workplace ergonomic assessments for employees and teaches back safety and falls prevention to employees and community members.  

Jyosna Philip, PT, DPT, OCS, COMT
Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy
Certified Orthopaedic Manual Therapist

Philip joined Sibley Outpatient Rehabilitation in 2018. She received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in 2011 and Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology from the University of Texas in Austin. She has extensive experience working in Outpatient Orthopedics and Geriatrics, and is certified in Manual Therapy and LSVT BIG for Parkinson's. She is licensed to practice in both District of Columbia and Maryland.

Bailey Ward, PT, DPT 
Board-Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopaedic Physical Therapy
Ward is a physical therapist, LSVT BIG certified clinician, and APTA credentialed clinical instructor who joined the outpatient rehabilitation team at Sibley in 2018. She completed her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree at the University of Southern California and orthopedic physical therapy residency at Adventist Health Glendale. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in physiological science from the University of California Los Angeles and a certificate in Mat Pilates for Rehabilitation from the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute. 

Megan K. Winfrey, DPT
Winfrey joined Sibley in 2012 after completing her doctor of physical therapy degree from Saint Louis University and has treated patients in acute care, skilled nursing unit, and outpatient physical therapy settings throughout her career.  She has been certified to treat LSVT BIG Parkinson’s patients since 2018.  She is a member of the APTA and is licensed to practice in the District of Columbia.
