Comprehensive Imaging Services at Sibley

Sibley Hospital’s Imaging Department includes the Sullivan Center for Breast Health, Sibley Center for Sleep Disorders, and Sibley Non-invasive Vascular Laboratory.  All of these areas provide a full array of state-of-the-art diagnostic and interventional services in a comfortable community hospital setting. 

About Imaging at Sibley

The Sibley Outpatient Imaging Center provides CT, MRI, ultrasound and general radiography, in addition to those already provided in the main hospital.

Many areas of the Imaging Services department have received accreditation by the American College of Radiology or the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission. Sibley is the only hospital in Washington, D.C., accredited in CT, MRI, mammography, vascular sonography and sleep medicine.

 

PET/CT

Sibley operated the first PET/CT scanner in the Washington area, and our facility is registered with the National Oncologic PET Registry.

Multislice CT

Sibley operates two multislice CT scanners in its main department including a 64 slice spiral unit. Both units are accredited by the American College of Radiology and perform the latest in diagnostic and screening examinations, including coronary CT angiography and virtual colonoscopy. Sibley is a member of the Image Gently program to help reduce radiation exposure to patients.

MRI

The Morris and Gwendolyn Cafritz Foundation MRI Suite features 2 high field MRI scanners capable of the latest imaging techniques, including breast MRI and interventional procedures. The MRI group is accredited by the American College of Radiology.

Interventional Radiology

This group offers minimally invasive procedures including varicose vein treatments, vertebroplasty and uterine artery embolism.
