Carol Shannon

Vice President, Sibley Memorial Hospital Foundation

Carol Shannon was appointed vice president of the Sibley Memorial Hospital Foundation in March 2016. Ms. Shannon is responsible for planning, managing and implementing all fundraising activities on behalf of Sibley Memorial Hospital. Before joining Sibley, she served for more than 11 years as chief development officer at Catholic Charities, where she led a $75 million capital campaign and obtained the organization’s first eight-figure gift.

Prior to her time at Catholic Charities, Ms. Shannon was director of major gifts and major gift officer for Children’s National Hospital Foundation in Washington, D.C. She has also served in development roles with Residential Youth Services in Alexandria, Virginia, and Covenant House in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. 

Ms. Shannon received her bachelor’s degree in communications from Susquehanna University.
