Sibley was recognized by the Human Rights Campaign as a top performer in LGBTQ Care

At Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, we take caring for our community very seriously and have long championed diversity and inclusion. That’s why we have been focused on creating a welcoming and supportive environment for LGBTQ patients and their families.

And it shows. Sibley is the only hospital in Washington, D.C. to receive a top performer ranking by Human Rights Campaign in its 2017 Healthcare Equality Index survey. Hospitals were awarded scores for implementation of LGBTQ-inclusive policies and practices in four areas: LGBTQ patient-centered care, LGBTQ patient services and support, fully-inclusive employee benefits and policies and LGBTQ patient and community engagement.

Highlights of Sibley’s LGBTQ focus include:

  • Making diversity and inclusion a top institutional priority
  • LGBTQ nurse navigator position
  • LBGTQ educational resources and training for employees
  • Sibley LGBTQ Committee, with community members, to identify and address the specific and unique health care needs

We want to keep enhancing our care and hear from you. Stop by our booth at Pride and share what’s important to you when you need care.
