The radiology Quality Improvement (QI) Committee is a uniquely diverse team with representation from all radiology divisions, clinical and nonclinical roles, and department leadership. The group meets monthly to teach front-line clinical teams the process of quality improvement using high-reliability organizations (HRO) principles, the science of safety and LEAN methodology. The group has been meeting since 2009 and is growing in size and project scope.
The QI Committee’s mission is to continuously develop a culture of quality and safety by empowering our front-line teams with the tools, resources and support necessary to create positive, meaningful change. The formula for success has three key components: leadership buy-in + employee passion + education and mentoring.
