Have the following information available:

  1. Available dates.
  2. Which doctor, if any, your doctor has asked you to see.
  3. What you have been told about your illness, so we can best direct your appointment.
  4. Medical insurance information
  5. If you have had diagnostic testing (pulmonary function studies, chest x-rays, CT scans, biopsies, etc.) performed elsewhere, please bring the results or x-rays with you. This will avoid unnecessary delay or repeat testing.

Transfers

Discuss with your physician if a transfer to Johns Hopkins Hospital is desirable and safe. If so, then your physician can request the transfer by calling the Hopkins Access Line (410-955-944 or 800-765-5447) and asking to speak to the Pulmonary attending physician. If the patient is in an intensive care unit, your physician can ask to speak to the attending physician of the Medical Intensive Care Unit.
