Geriatric Psychiatry

The Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic offers outpatient services to individuals 65 and older who are experiencing memory loss, depression, anxiety, and/or behavioral problems.

Services Offered

  • Comprehensive evaluation and treatment: Management of early-stage memory problems, depression, anxiety, and/or behavioral problems includes comprehensive evaluation and regular longitudinal follow up. The initial evaluation usually takes about three to four hours. Patients are requested to bring pertinent medical records and current medications at the time of the initial evaluation. Steps will be taken to ensure that care is coordinated with the patient’s primary care doctor when appropriate. Memory evaluation and more severe memory issues are managed at the Memory & Alzheimer’s Treatment Center.
  • Medication management
  • Working with a licensed therapist for individual and/or family therapy
  • Various group therapies offered within the Community Psychiatry Program

Clinic Staff

The Geriatric Psychiatry Clinic is staffed by an interdisciplinary team consisting of psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and mental health therapists.

Insurance

We accept Medical Assistance, Medicare, as well as some private insurance. Verification of all insurance must be made prior to an appointment being scheduled. When applicable, co-payments are expected at the time of service.
