R. Jay Lee, M.D. specializes in pediatric sports medicine for children, adolescents and young adults with a wide range of orthopaedic and sports medicine issues. His areas of clinical interest include the treatment of sports-related injuries, including knee, shoulder, elbow and ankle issues.

Dr. Lee's expertise and research interests include growth plate sparing ACL reconstruction, the pediatric meniscus, complex ligament reconstruction in growing patients, tibial spine fractures and optimizing fracture care.

Dr. Lee completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery at The Johns Hopkins Hospital, where he was a team physician for the Orioles. He completed his fellowship in pediatric orthopaedics at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, with a special focus on pediatric sports medicine. Dr. Lee subsequently joined the Johns Hopkins Department of Orthopaedic Surgery's Division of Pediatric Orthopaedics.

Dr. Lee is a member of the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America, Pediatric Research in Sports Medicine Society and the American Orthopaedic Association.

Dr. Lee's expertise and research interests include optimizing fracture care and returning to activity after sports injuries, as well as complex knee injuries and ligament reconstruction in growing patients, tibial spine fractures, the discoid meniscus and the treatment of osteochondritis dissecans with cartilage replacement procedures.
