Background
Amanda R. Crum, O.D., M.S is an optometrist practicing at the Wilmer Eye Institute in Odenton, Maryland. Dr. Crum provides primary and specialty eyecare within the division of Comprehensive Eye Care. She evaluates and manages patients with various ocular diseases including dry eyes, glaucoma, and cataracts, and screens patients for ophthalmic manifestations of systemic diseases. She provides routine eyecare for glasses, as well as contact lenses including soft, rigid gas-permeable, and scleral lenses.
Dr. Crum focuses her clinical and research time on specialty contact lenses for patients with irregular corneas from keratoconus, penetrating keratoplasty, and trauma.
After attending St. Bonaventure University for her undergraduate studies in Biology, Dr. Crum attended the Ohio State University College of Optometry. There she graduated magna cum laude with a dual Doctorate of Optometry (OD) and Masters in Vision Science (MS). She remained in Columbus, Ohio for an additional year of specialized training in cornea and contact lenses before moving to Baltimore where she began her career at Johns Hopkins.
