Background

Pamela A. Wright, M.D., is a breast surgeon with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians and the medical director of the Suburban Hospital Breast Center. 

Dr. Wright's expertise is in surgical oncology for breast cancer, including breast conserving surgery and sentinel lymph node biopsy. She also has expertise in benign breast disease and breast biopsy, including stereotactic and ultrasound-guided biopsy. 

Dr. Wright earned her Master of Science in Anatomy and her medical degree from University of Maryland School of Medicine. She completed a residency in general surgery at University of Maryland Medical Center, where she served as chief resident and administrative chief resident. Dr. Wright also completed a trauma research fellowship with the National Institutes of Health. 

Dr. Wright serves as the cancer liaison physician for the American College of Surgeons, of which she is also a fellow. Dr. Wright is also a member of the American Society of Breast Surgeons. 

Dr. Wright is repeatedly recognized as one of the area’s “Top Doctors in Breast Surgery" by Washingtonian magazine. She has also received the Cancer Liaison Physician Outstanding Performance Award and the Health Care Hero Award from the American Cancer Society. 

Dr. Wright has published research and conducted clinical trials for breast cancer. She currently runs research trials with Suburban Hospital Oncology Research.
