Dr. Shuchi Bhatt joined Johns Hopkins Community Physicians at Montgomery Grove located in Rockville Maryland in October of 2014. She had been in private practice for the prior 17 years and wanted to be part of a larger health organization that could meet the changing needs of medicine more effectively. She is thrilled to be part of a non profit like JHCP, where population health and health care quality and outcomes are measured and valued.
Born in Mumbai, India, Dr. Bhatt moved to Maryland as a young child and grew up in Montgomery County, attending the Holton-arms School in Bethesda and later Georgetown University, where she majored in History and Government as a premedical student. She obtained her medical doctorate from the University of Maryland School of Medicine and did her internship and residency at the University of Chicago Comer Children's Hospital in Illinois. On completing her training in Chicago, she served on staff at the Northwestern Children's Memorial Hospital (now the Ann & Robert Lurie Children's Hospital) and also as Clinical Instructor at the Northwestern University School of Medicine while working at a private practice in Chicago. However, she moved back to Maryland in 2000 to settle down close to her family and friends. She has held privileges at Fairfax Hospital, Sibley Memorial Hospital and Georgetown University Hospital, and currently has active privileges at Shady Grove Adventist Hospital in Rockville, Maryland. She has been Clinical Instructor of Pediatrics at Georgetown University School of Medicine, with experience teaching medical students at her prior practice (Pediatric Care of Rockville), where she worked for 12 years. She has been board certified since 1998 and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
