Dr. Sean Tackett is an assistant professor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is general internal medicine and his academic focus is international medical education.
Dr. Tackett received his M.D. from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. He completed his residency at the Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and performed a fellowship in internal medicine at Johns Hopkins, where he completed an M.P.H. at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
He currently teaches in the Curriculum Development for Medical Education faculty development program at Johns Hopkins Bayview and has conducted curriculum development consultation and workshops for faculty from China, Oman, Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Brazil. He is currently assisting with curriculum development for a Fogarty-funded research ethics master’s program in Malaysia.
His recent research has investigated students’ perceptions of their learning environments, and included collaborators from China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Israel, and Brazil. He also has ongoing projects related to the implementation and efficacy of medical education technologies and the accreditation of medical schools.
Clinically, he currently practices hospital medicine, attends on medical teaching services, and is the physician advisor for Johns Hopkins Medicine International’s Remote Medical Second Opinion Program.
