Mayra Sanchez Gonzalez, Ph.D., is a counseling psychologist with expertise in rehabilitation psychology. She works with patients and families to manage physical, cognitive, behavioral and emotional problems related to living with or recovering from an injury or illness.

Her clinical and research interests include exploring the links between psychological and physical health, and addressing psychological concerns of patients living with or recovering from an injury or illness. She is fluent in Spanish and takes a special interest in immigrants and Latinx communities in both her clinical and research pursuits. 

Dr. Sanchez Gonzalez is an Instructor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, Division of Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology. She completed a postdoctoral residency in rehabilitation psychology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
