Background

Soo Yeon Kim, M.D., is a rehabilitation physician specializing in pain and musculoskeletal medicine, with clinic locations in the Baltimore metropolitan area. Her expertise includes diagnostic and interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound; preventive and regenerative care; nonsurgical treatments for spine disorders; cancer pain and pain related to neurologic conditions; and spinal cord stimulation. Dr. Kim treats a wide range of conditions, including tendinitis and tendon tears, lower back pain and pudendal neuralgia.

Dr. Kim serves as medical director of the Johns Hopkins Musculoskeletal Center. In addition to her clinical activities, Dr. Kim has a passion for teaching. She leads a hands-on ultrasound course for residents and other trainees in the Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her focus is on fostering an environment where orthopaedists, physiatrists, physical therapists and other team members collaborate for effective interdisciplinary care.

A native of Korea, Dr. Kim earned her undergraduate, graduate and doctoral degrees at Catholic University of Korea in Seoul. She interned and completed a residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Following her residency, she remained at Albert Einstein College of Medicine, completing a fellowship in pain management.
