Background

Dr. Dias is a physiologist. She received her BSc in Biomedical Science, MSc and Ph.D in Physiology from the University of Montreal and her MPH from Johns Hopkins University. Dr. Dias joined the Division of Endocrinology after completing four years of postdoctoral fellowship at NIA,  National Institute of Health (NIH). She has studied the pathophysiology of diabetes type 2, obesity and their complications utilizing in vivo rodent models, in vitro biochemical techniques as well as epidemiological and clinical trial data. Her research interests are in aging,  diabetes, cardiovascular disease, sex hormones, glucose and lipid metabolism. (Languages) Fluent in Spanish, Portuguese, French and English
