Background

Nicholas Rowan performs a full complement of endoscopic sinus, nasal, and orbital surgeries. When indicated, he can also perform some of these with a minimally invasive approach, as an in-office procedure. Additionally, Dr. Rowan works closely with the Johns Hopkins neurosurgical team to manage pituitary tumors and other intracranial tumors that can be accessed through the sinuses.

Dr. Rowan is actively involved in clinic research. Key areas of interest include the sense of smell and quality of life outcomes in patients that undergo sinus or skull base surgery, with a focus on how to improve patient outcomes and experience. He is a champion for patient care both in his clinical practice and his research endeavors. He has co-authored more than 40 peer reviewed publications, in addition to several book chapters and international guideline statements. He is regularly invited to speak about his research findings at local, national and international meetings.
