Research & Publications

Research Summary

Dr. Sahetya has a Masters in Clinical Investigation and her primary focus is ventilator-induced lung injury in the acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). She has studied the effect of positive-end expiratory pressure and tidal volume on airway pressures during mechanical ventilation and is currently evaluating the optimal ways to personalize these settings for individual patients. She is also interested in how critical care physicians practice goal-concordant care for critically ill patients. She is particularly interested in end-of-life communication between clinicians and families.
