Dr. Gorin is an Assistant Professor of Urology, Oncology, and Radiology at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Dr. Gorin serves as the Director of Clinical Operations and leads the Program in Prostate Cancer Precision Medicine at The James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute. Dr. Gorin’s clinical practice focuses on the care of men with prostate cancer and enlarged prostate symptoms. To diagnose and treat these conditions, Dr. Gorin employs a full range of minimally invasive techniques. The following procedures are among the most commonly performed by Dr. Gorin:   

Prostate Cancer:

  • Transperineal Prostate Biopsy with MRI-guidance
  • Cryoablation of the Prostate (focal, hemi, and whole gland treatment as appropriate)

Dr. Gorin’s research focuses on the development of novel image-guided diagnostic tests and therapeutic interventions in the field of urologic oncology. Dr. Gorin is internationally recognized for his work studying PSMA-targeted 18F-DCFPyL PET imaging of prostate cancer and for pioneering methods to perform MRI-guided transperineal prostate biopsy. Dr. Gorin has published over 200 articles in leading journals. Additionally, he has contributed multiple chapters to medical textbook including Campbell-Walsh Urology and Gray’s Anatomy. Dr. Gorin has also edited his own comprehensive textbook on kidney cancer entitled Diagnosis and Surgical Management of Renal Tumors. Dr. Gorin serves on the editorial boards of several journals including UROLOGY, British Journal of Urology International, Current Urology Reports, and World Journal of Urology. Dr. Gorin is the recipient of numerous honors and awards including the Drs. Carl and Barbara Alving Endowed Award for Outstanding Biomedical Research, the Urology Care Foundation’s Resident Research Award, and the William F. Rienhoff, Jr., M.D. Scholar Award.

Dr. Gorin attended college at the University of Michigan where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology. He then went on to attend medical school at the University of Miami Leonard M. Miller School of Medicine where he graduated as an inductee to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. Following medical school, Dr. Gorin completed a general surgery internship, urology residency, and a fellowship in endoscopic and minimally invasive urology at Johns Hopkins. more
