Background
Dr. Lisa Rooper is a head and neck pathologist and general surgical pathologist at Johns Hopkins. She specializes in the pathological diagnosis of diseases involving the upper aerodigestive system, sinonasal tract, salivary glands, thyroid gland, parathyroid glands, and associated soft tissue.
She completed her BS in Communication summa cum laude at Northwestern University, MD with honors at the University of Illinois, and Anatomic and Clinical Pathology Residency and Advanced Specialty Training Program in Surgical Pathology at Johns Hopkins.
Her research interests center on better understanding the pathogenesis of head and neck neoplasms and improving their diagnosis, classification, and prognostication, with a particular interest in salivary, sinonasal, and neuroendocrine tumors.
She currently serves as Director of the Head and Neck Pathology Service and Assistant Director of Surgical Pathology at Johns Hopkins. She is on the editorial board for several journals including the American Journal of Surgical Pathology and Modern Pathology.
