Background
Dr. Baohan Pan received his medical degree from Henan Medical College in Zhengzhou, China. He then completed his Ph.D. in medicine in Oporto University School of Medicine, Portugal, before joining the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine.
Dr. Baohan Pan focuses on peripheral neuropathy with a particular interest in neuropathic pain and in understanding the mechanisms of degeneration and regeneration of cutaneous nerves in peripheral neuropathic disorders. His expertise includes: developing new biomarkers for examining skin biopsies, and investigating various factors influencing small fiber nerve regeneration using axotomy models in human and experimental animals.
