Dr. Lingling Xian is an instructor of medicine at Johns Hopkins University in the department of hematology. She graduated from medical school in Clinic Medicine in Shihezi University in 1999. She began a Ph.D training at the State Key Laboratory of Genetic Engineering at Fudan University in Shanghai, China in 2005. There, she developed expertise in cancer molecular genetics.
Her research focuses on chromatin remodeling proteins in tumor progression, stem cells, and normal development.
Prior to her appointment at Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Xian was a research associate at both the department of orthopaedic surgery and the department of hematology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
She has published extensively, holds four patents that she co-authored, and has most recently been awarded the 2017 Johns Hopkins School Medicine Department of Medicine Research Retreat Basic Science Award.
