Reza Ghorbani, MD, ABIPP, FIPP, is a Harvard-trained, author, inventor and board certified Interventional Pain Management Specialist. As a leading practitioner in his field, Dr. Ghorbani has devoted his entire career to helping patients overcome pain to enable a better quality of life.
Dr. Ghorbani graduated with honors from Tufts University and then attended Tufts University School of Medicine. He completed a Surgical Internship at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center and a residency in Anesthesiology at Harvard University’s Brigham and Women’s Hospital. He then completed a Fellowship in Pain Management, also at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
Prior to his move to Washington, DC in 2007, Dr. Ghorbani was in private practice, providing pain management services in Boston for 10 years. He was affiliated with several prestigious teaching hospitals such as New England Baptist Hospital. In addition, Dr. Ghorbani was Director of the Interventional Pain Management Program at Boston University Medical Center where he was actively involved in training resident physicians and medical students.
He is a staff member at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, Maryland and an affiliate of Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
When he is not working, Dr. Ghorbani, a former junior tennis champion, is an avid tennis player who enjoys photography and travelling.
