Dr. Roshan M. Bashir is a gastroenterologist affiliated with Sibley Memorial Hospital and Washington Hospital Center. Dr. Bashir is certified in gastroenterology and internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He practices out of Capital Digestive Care’s Metropolitan Gastroenterology Group in Washington, D.C. and Chevy Chase, Md.
Dr. Bashir has an expertise in advanced endoscopy procedures, including therapeutic ERCP, diagnostic endoscopic ultrasound, fine-needle aspiration and cryospray ablation therapy of Barrett’s esophagus. He also has an expertise in hepatitis C management, as well as pancreatic and biliary diseases.
Dr. Bashir earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Virginia and his medical degree from George Washington University School of Medicine. He completed an internal medicine residency at Emory University School of Medicine, where he was chief resident. Dr. Bashir also completed a fellowship in gastroenterology, hepatology and nutrition, as well as a third-tier fellowship in advanced therapeutic endoscopy at Georgetown University Hospital.
Dr. Bashir is a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and the American Gastroenterological Association, and a former Governor of the American College of Gastroenterology.
Dr. Bashir has been named a Super Doctor by the Washington Post Magazine, as well as a Top Doctor in Consumers’ Checkbook Magazine and Washingtonian Magazine.
