Dr. James H. French is a plastic surgeon affiliated with Sibley Memorial Hospital and Inova Fairfax Hospital. Dr. French is certified in plastic surgery by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. He practices out of the Center for Plastic Surgery in Chevy Chase, Md.
Dr. French has an expertise in facial surgery, breast surgery, surgery of the abdomen, liposuction and body contouring. He is skilled in performing the facelifts, breast augmentations, abdominoplasties and liposuction.
Dr. French earned his medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine, where he completed a residency in general surgery. Dr. French also completed a residency in plastic surgery at Vanderbilt University and a craniofacial surgery fellowship at New York University. He has held a presidential appointment to the National Cancer Advisory Board and has served as chief of plastic surgery at Fairfax Hospital; clinical faculty at Georgetown University School of Medicine; assistant professor of plastic surgery at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine; co-director of the Facial Rehabilitation Center at the Children’s Hospital in Baltimore; and chief of plastic surgery and co-director of the regional burn center at the Baltimore City Hospitals.
Dr. French is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, as well as a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the Southeastern Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons, the National Capital Society of Plastic Surgeons and Virginia Surgical Society.
Dr. French has been named one of the Best Doctors in America, a Top Doctor by Northern Virginia Magazine and a consistent Top Plastic Surgeon by Washingtonian Magazine.
