Background
Dr. Raymond Zollinger is an instructor of medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His area of clinical expertise is primary care.
As vice president of medical affairs for Johns Hopkins Community Physicians, Dr. Zollinger is the senior medical leader responsible for clinical and quality oversight of the providers. He oversees the employment and compensation for the 400+ multispecialty providers and also oversees risk, safety and service for the organization.
Throughout his career, Dr. Zollinger’s efforts have led to improvements in quality, provider engagement, operations and financial performance. He joined Johns Hopkins Community Physicians in 2002 as an associate medical director for the White Marsh practice, where he was promoted to office medical director in 2003. In 2011, he was promoted to regional medical director for the Baltimore North region of Johns Hopkins Community Physicians. Dr. Zollinger continues to deliver primary care to a panel of adult patients at the Wyman Park practice.
In 2012, he became a co-leader of the community intervention of the Johns Hopkins Community Health Partnership, a grant from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation.
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in physics from Harvard College, Dr. Zollinger worked for Goldman Sachs as an analyst and then associate in fixed income. Transitioning to a medical career, he earned a master’s degree in healthcare management from the Wharton School and an M.D. from the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to complete his internship and residency in internal medicine at Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
