Research & Publications
Dr. Fivush's research has focused largely on pediatric chronic kidney disease (CKD). Early in her career, she studied the safety and efficacy of various vaccines in children on dialysis and who had received kidney transplants. She was instrumental in laying the groundwork for the current vaccination standards for children with CKD.
More recently, she has worked to develop quality measures for pediatric patients with CKD. Her work in this area has resulted in improved care for these children and holds the promise to improve long-term outcomes among children who undergo dialysis.
Dr. Fivush was previously involved in a national, multi-center collaborative project that examined the progression of kidney disease in children. She is presently involved in a second national collaborative trial to compare several management approaches to children who have vesicoureteral reflux.
