My research interests focus on the Huntington disease and spinal and bulbar muscular atrophy, two CAG repeat expansion disorders. We use human iPSC models to investigate molecular mechanisms underlying both diseases and to discover novel therapeutics. We perform genome editing using the CRISPR-Cas9 system to make isogenic iPSC lines by manipulating the gene of interest and to conduct gene knockout as well as large DNA-fragment knockin.
