Sonya J. Lecuona, M.D., is an internist with Johns Hopkins Community Physicians - Montgomery. Dr. Lecuona has privileges at Sibley Memorial Hospital and is board certified in internal medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Lecuona has extensive clinical expertise, ranging from large, outpatient practice, to a University of Maryland School of Medicine clinical instructor for medical students, interns and residents in both in- and outpatient settings. She previously served as the office medical director for Johns Hopkins Community Physicians at Sibley Memorial Hospital. 

Dr. Lecuona earned her medical degree from the State University of New York, Upstate Medical University. She completed an internship and residency in internal medicine at University of Maryland. Dr. Lecuona went on to become the medical director of Mercy Family Care in Baltimore, Maryland, followed by a physician at The Bose Group in Baltimore, Maryland before joining Johns Hopkins.
