Background
Shriddha Nayak is a board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist who provides general gynecologic and prenatal care for women in the Baltimore area. She is an assistant professor in the Johns Hopkins Department of Gynecology and Obstetrics.
Dr. Nayak has a special interest in high-risk obstetrics, including managing hypertensive disorders, diabetes and other medical conditions during pregnancy. Drawing on her background in engineering, she works closely with her patients to understand their medical issues and then considers a variety of perspectives to develop effective treatment plans. She values a multidisciplinary and collaborative approach in providing the best care for her patients. In addition to her clinical work, she is also involved in patient safety and simulation training activities.
Dr. Nayak earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She then completed her residency at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Inspired by the diverse patients she served in the Baltimore community during her training, Dr. Nayak stayed on as faculty. Prior to this, she earned her undergraduate degree in chemical-biological engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
She is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Society for Academic Specialists in General Obstetrics and Gynecology.
