Background

Shahnaz Miri, M.D., M.B.A., is a neuro-ophthalmologist and board certified neurologist treating patients at the Wilmer Eye Institute’s locations in Baltimore, Lutherville and Bel Air, Maryland.

Dr. Miri received her doctorate from the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, School of Medicine. After completing a post-doctoral fellowship at SUNY Health Science Center in Brooklyn, she completed a neurology residency at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Miri also completed a movement disorders fellowship at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital and a neuro-ophthalmology fellowship at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, University of Miami.

Her research interests include vision disorders and ocular biomarkers in neurodegenerative disorders, including Parkinson’s disease and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Miri is also interested in medical informatics and the development of technology solutions to improve patients' assessment and care.
