Background
Scott C. Faucett, M.D., is an orthopaedic surgeon affiliated with Sibley Memorial Hospital. He practices out of The Orthopedic Center in Washington, D.C.
Dr. Faucett has expertise in arthroscopic hip surgery, complex knee ligament reconstruction, knee cartilage restoration and knee alignment.
Dr. Faucett earned his Masters of Science degree and his medical degree from Dartmouth Medical School. He completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at Mary Hitchcock Memorial Hospital of Dartmouth, along with research in health policy, clinical epidemiology and cost-effective analysis. During his residency, Dr. Faucett provided physician coverage for Dartmouth athletes and trained in the direct anterior approach for total hip replacement. He went on to complete a fellowship in sports medicine at The Steadman Clinic and was appointed as a team doctor to the United States Ski and Snowboard teams.
Dr. Faucett is a member of the International Society of Arthroscopy Knee Surgery & Orthopaedic Sports Medicine, the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons, the American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine, the American Orthopaedic Association, the International Society for Hip Arthroscopy, the Arthroscopy Association of North America and the Orthopaedic Trauma Association.
Dr. Faucett has contributed to numerous publications and presentations on orthopaedic surgery topics.
