Background
Dr. Salih Colakoglu is a microvascular plastic and reconstructive surgeon with clinical interests in lymphedema surgery, breast reconstruction, trunk and extremity reconstruction, and general plastic surgery. A graduate of the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Colakoglu completed general surgery residency at New York Presbyterian Queens, plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the University of Colorado, and a reconstructive microsurgery fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. This breadth of training ensures that Dr. Colakoglu can tailor personalized solutions to even the most complex reconstructive challenges. In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Colakoglu is an accomplished researcher. He is a former Peter Jay Sharp Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School and has published several book chapters and over 50 primary articles examining technique and outcome in reconstructive surgery. Dr. Colakoglu’s goal is to develop, examine, and integrate the best thinking in the field to deliver superior outcomes for his patients
