Background
Dr. Mandal is a head and neck cancer surgeon with expertise in the surgical treatment of benign and malignant tumors of the head and neck, including the upper aerodigestive tract, salivary glands, thyroid and parathyroid glands, and skin.
He also serves as Director of the Head and Neck Cancer Immunotherapy Research Program at the Johns Hopkins University/Bloomberg-Kimmel Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy. He has specific interest in the treatment and research of advanced head and neck cancers with immune-based therapies. His research efforts involve understanding the genetic and immunologic basis for response to immunotherapy to better personalize immunotherapy cancer care for patients with head and neck cancer.
