Background

Dr. Nate Permpalung graduated from the Faculty of Medicine, Chulalongkorn University, Thailand in 2010. He completed a residency in Internal Medicine at Bassett Medical Center/Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in 2015. He then completed a fellowship in Infectious Diseases at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center/Harvard Medical School in 2017. During his fellowship, he concurrently completed his Master of Public Health in Clinical Effectiveness from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health in 2017 and he then completed a fellowship in Transplant Infectious Diseases at Duke University Medical Center in 2018.

After graduation, he joined the Transplant and Oncology Infectious Diseases Program at Johns Hopkins. His research interests include respiratory viral infections in lung transplant recipients, invasive fungal infections in transplant recipients, and human pythiosis.
