Background

Mihaela Carter, M.D. earned her medical degree from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Iuliu Hatieganu, Romania. Following this, she pursued her internal medicine training at Albert Einstein College of Medicine-Jacobi Medical Center in Bronx, NY.

Subsequently, she completed an Infectious Disease fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center. After completing her fellowship, in 2015, she joined Infectious Disease Associates private practice and has been with the company since then.

Dr. Carter specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of infections, including urinary tract infections, pneumonia, bacteremia, infective endocarditis, osteomyelitis, HIV, hepatitis B and C, among others. She maintains a particular interest in general Infectious Diseases.

Dr. Carter sees patients in both office and hospital settings, including critically ill patients.
