Background
Dr. Mary Concetta Corretti is an associate professor, Division of Cardiology, at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She also serves as both inpatient and outpatient cardiologist, echocardiographer and medical director of the adult echo labs at both University of Maryland (1992-2003) and Johns Hopkins Hospital (2003—present). She is currently engaged in research on cardiovascular ultrasound, ultrasound in endothelial function in atherosclerosis and risk factors for subclinical atherosclerosis and valvular heart disease. Dr. Corretti was medical director of the Echocardiography Laboratory at the Johns Hopkins Hospital School of Medicine from 2003-2014.
Dr. Corretti received her undergraduate degree Northeastern University. She earned a bachelor of science in nursing from Boston College. She received a medical degree from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine and completed an internship and residency at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She was an associate professor of medicine at the University of Maryland School of Medicine before joining the Johns Hopkins faculty in 2003.
Dr. Corretti is a member of the American Heart Association where she participates in the Council on Clinical Cardiology and Council on Women in Cardiology. Her work has been recognized through the American Heart Association Committee Chair Award. She has published widely and actively participates in editorial work for several top cardiology journals.
