Background
Dr. Harraz is an instructor in The Solomon H. Snyder Department of Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
He studies the molecular mechanisms underlying motivation, reward, and cell survival/death. The long-term goal of his work is to leverage our understanding of these signaling pathways to identify therapeutic targets for neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disorders.
Dr. Harraz received his medical degree from the Suez Canal University School of Medicine in Ismailia, Egypt. He completed his Ph.D. in cell biology and molecular medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine in Iowa City, IA, then conducted his postdoctoral work in neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
