Dr. Borden is a faculty member in the Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.  She specializes in pediatric psychology including the assessment and treatment of children, adolescents, and young adults with medical conditions and associated behavioral, social, or emotional difficulties.  Dr. Borden serves as the primary behavioral consultant within Pediatric Gastroenterology and Pediatric Rheumatology at the Johns Hopkins Children’s Center.  She works within the Pediatric Multidisciplinary Chronic Consitpation Clinic and provides ongoing outpatient services for preschoolers and school-age children with toilet training concerns, abdominal pain, or other challenges associated with chronic constipation and other functional GI disorders.  Additionally, within the Pediatric Rheumatology Multidisciplinary Clinic, Dr. Borden specializes in behavioral pain management and improving quality of life for children with chronic illnesses.  Her clinical research interests include the development and application of a public health framework to optimize medical and behavioral outcomes for children receiving multidisciplinary medical care.  Dr. Borden completed her PhD in Counseling Psychology at the University of Missouri in Columbia, MO.  She completed her predoctoral internship at the VAMHCS/UMB Clinical Psychology Internship Consortium in Baltimore, MD.  She completed a postdoctoral clinical fellowship at the Johns Hopkins University Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry. more
