Background
Lauren Benishek is an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist and Research Fellow in the Department of Anesthesiology and Critical Care Medicine at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine. She is guided by a passion for helping others overcome substantial external and personal hurdles so they may become their most effective selves. As such, she holds an appointment with the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality where her stream of research is concentrated on professional talent development, safety and well-being, and teamwork and unit dynamics. She also currently serves as a program evaluation specialist for Learning and Development within the Armstrong Institute and is supporting efforts to build capacity in patient safety and quality leadership across Johns Hopkins Medicine.
Dr. Benishek’s work appears in peer reviewed outlets including The Joint Commission Journal on Quality and Patient Safety, Simulation in Healthcare, and Medical Science Educator.
