COVID-19 Update

Due to interest in the COVID-19 vaccines, we are experiencing an extremely high call volume. Please understand that our phone lines must be clear for urgent medical care needs. We are unable to accept phone calls to schedule COVID-19 vaccinations at this time. When this changes, we will update this website. Our vaccine supply remains limited. Read all COVID-19 Vaccine Information.

Background

Dr. Kevin Yarema is an associate professor of biomedical engineering at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His research focuses on biotechnology and clinical aspects of carbohydrate engineering.

After completing an undergraduate degree in bioengineering at Walla Walla College, Dr. Yarema went on to receive a Ph.D. in biological chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of California, Berkeley, where he specialized in chemical biology approaches for manipulating glycosylation in living cells.

Dr. Yarema uses systems biology approaches to determine the role of glycosylation in health and disease, and to develop applications—such as cancer treatment—for metabolic oligosaccharide engineering methodologies.

Dr. Yarema has authored or co-authored over 50 peer-reviewed articles and 25 book chapters or review articles. He has lectured and presented his work at universities and conferences throughout the world.
