Background

Jung Soo Suk is an Assistant Professor of Ophthalmology at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. His research interests lie in therapeutic nanomedicine for the treatment of numerous diseases occurring in brain, lung, bladder and eyes. Nanomedicine, due to its nano-scale dimension, provides unique opportunities to overcome challenging physiological barriers that hamper efficient delivery of therapeutics to the target tissues. His research group focuses on developing nanotechnology-based drug and nucleic acid delivery platforms and strategies based on in-depth understanding of biochemical and biophysical properties of those delivery barriers.

Dr. Suk received his B.S. in chemical engineering at Korea University and Ph.D. in biomedical engineering at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He joined the Center for Nanomedicine as a research associate prior to his tenure-track faculty appointment in 2015.
